Our work on loneliness continues

Yesterday, for a short moment, everyone here at the Mental Health Foundation took a breath and a moment to reflect on an incredible Mental Health Awareness Week. We never fail to be amazed by the way you get involved and start vital conversations about mental health.

This year, more than ever, you rose to the challenge. We saw thousands of you share your experiences of loneliness using the hashtag #IveBeenThere on social media, creating a conversation about the effects of loneliness on mental health.

Over 8500 of you (and counting) downloaded our how to cope with loneliness guide, and over 70,000 of you accessed our Mental Health Awareness Week resources. However the conversation around mental health cannot only last a week. We must all continue to have open, honest discussions about mental health.

This will help us run important programmes like Picture This, which uses online art sessions to combat digital exclusion among elderly people, or the Perthyn Project, which created a space where refugee and asylum-seeking women could talk, create new friendships and improve their emotional literacy in English and decrease isolation.

We cannot do this without your support. Please donate to help us ensure that weeks like these are just the start of the mentally healthy future we are working for.

Again, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your continued support, and the mentally healthy future you make possible.

Kind regards,
