Following a remarkable spring season for Christie's live and online auctions, I wanted to share with you some updates on our wider portfolio of global services. Beside auction and art appraisals, these services include private sales, art financing and international real estate.
Christie’s Private Sales allows clients to buy or sell across categories at their own pace. In 2021, Christie’s led the industry with a record US$1.7 billion in private sales and strength continues in 2022. Along with discreet one-to-one engagements, we also hold regular pop-up selling exhibitions across the globe, with our summer programme launching shortly in London, Aspen, the Hamptons and Monaco. Our specialists look forward to welcoming you at any of these locations.
In 2021, Christie’s expanded its Art Finance service, providing a broader set of fine art loans against any collection. Our clients can now efficiently meet their financial needs, while working with a partner who understands the market for and value of their objects. This enhanced platform not only complements Christie’s complete end-to-end solutions for the art market, but also creates more liquidity for passion-driven investments.
Christie’s International Real Estate is a premier network for luxury residential brokerage services, with more than 8,700 agents in nearly 50 countries and territories. The sale of and ongoing relationship with this business in 2021 has allowed a renewed level of investment in the network and created even stronger connections between our auction house and the real estate venture.
