Dear Ulysses,
Drop by the Sanctuary's Parrot Garden and you might hear Disney melodies coming from the next room. Or maybe hip-hop tracks. Or show tunes. Don't worry, you didn't mistakenly stumble into the staff room. It just happens to be music time at the Parrot Garden and blissed-out birds are bobbing their heads and shaking their tail feathers to their favorite jams. And yes, it's as hilariously charming as it sounds.
Of course, for intelligent animals like these, there's more to life than dance parties. Daily enrichment at the Parrot Garden includes puzzles, scavenger toys and frozen fruit pops. Dedicated caregivers provide regular misting sessions (parrots need baths, too) to keep the birds healthy and clean. Check it out.
Keeping everyone healthy is a top priority here, of course. Although Utah has had only four cases of avian flu (aka bird flu), we met with state wildlife veterinarians to ensure that we're doing everything possible to keep our feathered friends safe and feeling great. So far, so good!
Because parrots can have such long life spans (up to 70 years for some), they may find themselves in need of a new home more than once during their lifetime. Thanks to you, the Parrot Garden is truly a lifesaving safe haven for these special birds, a place where they get the care and companionship they need until they can be adopted by a loving family. It's also a place where they can groove to their favorite tunes. And that's music to everyone's ears.
Thank you again for being such a great friend to the animals.
Sincerely,
Judah Battista

P.S. Get ready: In a few days, we'll meet the smart, silly, sensitive sweethearts of Marshall's Piggy Paradise.
