All summer long, La Cave is home to Chet’s, a Thai-Americana restaurant with a banging menu dreamt up by Kris Yenbamroong of LA’s cult Thai spot, NIGHT+MARKET.
Chet’s dishes up spicy, smoky plates like the Smashburger, chilli hot dogs, and a fiery crispy rice salad, all well paired with La Cave’s natural wine list. To whet your appetite, we took 5 mins with Chef Yenbamroong to get to know the man behind the spice:
Favourite hangout in London?
A long lunch at Rochelle Canteen. I’m hoping it’s sunny.
Desert island meal?
Skipping dessert because I prefer savoury dishes I would like a room service Caesar salad, Club Sandwich from Rae’s, Steak au Poivre with frites. And, my drink would be a martini (up with a twist)
Favourite dish on the Chet’s menu?
I’m a Thai kid who was raised in Los Angeles. I ate a lot of hot dogs growing up — they were easy to assemble and they made me feel American, so it has to be The Chiang Rai Chilli Dog.

Last month, to mark Mental Health Awareness month, we launched the ‘Good Table’, a new dining series where delicious food meets thoughtful discussion. Kicking things off, @stefaniesw, whose brilliant platform This Might Help offers peer-to-peer support for those helping others, led an evening where we paired conversation topics to courses.

We’ve teamed up with Sausage Press, a brand spanking new selection of guides which celebrate the very best of London. The debut guide focuses on The Full English, starring old greasy spoons, newfangled twists, and the city’s best hungover brunch spots.
To celebrate its launch we’re hosting an exhibit of photography from the guide. Albie will also be serving up a ‘best bits’ weekend special. That’s Dishoom’s masala beans, Beppe’s fried slice, Riding House Café’s bacon, Norman’s sausage, E.Pellicci’s eggs, and hash browns from Hash E8, all on one plate, you do not want to miss it.
