The Newsletter: International Zine Month
|
Consider this our love letter to zines. Itty bitty cat-filled zines, big and bold disability justice zines, and educational how-to-poop-in-the-woods zines.
The zine's indie creativity and DIY ethos are everything we believe in at Blurb.
In this newsletter, buckle up for a month's worth of zine inspiration capped off by the very punk-rock 24-Hour Zine Challenge.

What's a zine?
|
Zines are DIY publications of any kind. Historically created by politically radical individuals and collectives to share ideas deemed unfit to be published by mainstream sources, they're now made by anyone (ahem, you!) for any reason.

The 24-Hour Zine Challenge
Zinesters: put down the scissors and step away from the copy machine. Today's digitally crafted zines are far easier to create than they were in their punk heyday. And we're making it even easier because we're printing yours for free!*
|
Your challenge: Make a 24-page zine in 24 hours on July 24.
Zines have no rules, but the challenge has a few guidelines:
- Create your zine on July 24.
- Share your finished zine’s title and summary on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or email.
- Make sure to tag @blurbbooks and use the hashtags #24HourZine and #Sweepstakes.
- Watch your messages for a coupon to print your zine for free!*
